About Charlie Bears
Charlie Bears was founded by keen bear enthusiasts Charlotte and William Morris in November 2005 and they launched their first collection in February 2006. Since this time every little creation from Charlie Bears has been lovingly handmade with the greatest attention to detail.
All the bears and friends within all the collections are designed by both Charlotte and William Morris and a number of talented artists from around the world.
How many of each plush bear is produced?
Due to the handmade nature of the products it is impossible to make tens of thousands of each design and in fact in some cases there has been as few as 250 pieces made with the average worldwide production from date of launch to date of retirement being around 3000 pieces.
Are all Charlie Bears handmade?
From the cutting of the fabric to the stitching of the nose every single Charlie Bear and friend is handmade with the greatest attention to detail. Charlie Bears feel that to create a truly perfect companion not only takes a great deal of time but also a great deal of skill and this can only be achieved with personal attention from skilled artists. The most important feature of any bear or friend is the facial features and as such sometimes each bears face can take many hours to get just right.
What is the Isabelle Collection?
Charlotte and William first met with Isabelle Lee the designer and creator of The Isabelle Collection mohair range of teddy bears in the United States in 2005 and since 2006 Charlie Bears have become the worldwide distributor of this fabulous limited editon mohair collection of teddy bears and friends. The Isabelle Collection is for the true connoisseur of teddy bears and is extremely sought after. The Isabelle Collection are all limited edition bears and now all bears are limited in production to 500 pieces or less.
How are Charlie Bears measured?
All Charlie Bears are measured by the length of the bear from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet while in a laying position. Any measurements shown for an item on our website are the measurements given to us by Charlie Bears.
